Introduction to K-Pop Group WINNER and Their Full-length albums

WINNER, a four-member boy group under YG Entertainment, debuted on August 17, 2014. Originates from the debut survival program "WIN: Who is Next?" where the group, then known as “TEAM A”, emerged victorious against “TEAM B”. This victory, under the guidance of YG's chief producer Yang Hyun-suk, not only named them WINNER but also symbolized their acceptance by the public.

 

JINU, the lead vocalist of WINNER, marked a significant milestone in his career by releasing his solo album "hey day" with the title track "Call Anytime (feat. MINO)" on August 14, 2019, six years after his debut.

 

YOON, the leader and main vocalist of WINNER, gained widespread recognition after securing a spot in the final four of the survival audition program “Superstar K 2”, aired on Mnet in 2010. This achievement led to his signing with YG Entertainment in January 2011. Additionally, 

 

HOONY, as WINNER's rapper and main dancer, having  competed in the survival audition program "K-pop Star Season 1" on SBS in 2011, where he finished in fourth place.

 

MINO is a prominent figure in the South Korean music industry, renowned for his roles as a rapper, lyricist, composer, and producer. He is the main rapper of WINNER. Before joining WINNER, MINO was preparing to debut with Block B but had to leave due to personal reasons. He later became a member of the group BOM.

On April 4, 2018, WINNER released their 2nd full-length album, “EVERYD4Y”. This album introduced new musical genres distinct from their previous blues and tropical house influences. The title track "EVERYDAY" features a refined mix of Pop and Chill Trap, expressing the overwhelming emotions of spending every day with a loved one through WINNER's delicate lyrics. Directed by Dave Meyers, who also directed the hit “REALLY REALLY”, the music video for "EVERYDAY" stands out with its minimalistic and unique arrangement.

Released on April 10, 2020, WINNER's 3rd full-length album, “Remember”, focuses on the theme of reminiscing and cherishing memories with fans. The album includes a total of 12 tracks, featuring the pre-released “Hold”, Jinu's solo track “Dduk”, and Seunghoon's solo track "Serenade", first performed at the 2014 Melon Music Awards. The title track "Remember", a collaborative effort between Song Min-ho, Kang Uk Jin, and Diggy, is highlighted by its lyrical guitar play and Song Min-ho's emotive lyrics and melody.
