This meme creation app is helping people release the stress of their daily lives through humor. The app, “Yakchigi Jjal Mandeulgi,” was created in collaboration with the original content creator, nicknamed Gurim Wang Yangchigi, and app developer, mojitok. Its name roughly translates to Make Addictive GIF Medicine, and as the name suggests, was created as a way to inject a dose of comedy into our otherwise unexciting daily lives.
Let’s take a closer look at some of the memes created by the original content creator behind the Yakchigi series.
The first meme has two women taking a run at night. When the friend asks “It’s nice to work out at night, right?” the friend retorts, “No. Let’s go grab a beer.” This reflects the all too common situation where when you're on a diet there’s always someone that suggests eating pizza, ice cream, or some other devilishly delicious treat. And that’s the person you always connect with because they know what’s really in your heart—food, drinks, and desserts.
Don’t let friends throw you off your diet by tempting you with unhealthy food. Check out this protein-heavy snack with 3 times the protein of chicken and read about our collaboration with Class 101 to receive a special discount for their online fitness course.
Next up, we have a situation many of us are all too familiar with. That moment when you're so frustrated or angry that you can’t help but laugh at the current situation. Here we see the protagonist break into laughter as her emotions spill over after her laptop’s ill-timed blue screen of death. Luckily our data is stored on a server these days, so we don’t have to worry about losing our work. But when you need to turn in that last-minute report, this could be a problem…
Luckily, laughing isn’t the only way to release your frustrations. Keep this massage tool next to your desk and massage out all those stress-induced kinks.
Now people have started making their own GIF memes using the Yakchigi app. Let’s check one out.
In this GIF, the caption reads as, “Chima Eel Che,” and carries a meaning similar to wanting to become one with your bed. This phrase is used when someone wants to procrastinate, throw their responsibilities away, and lay in their bed all day. And, with winter finally here, it definitely doesn’t sound like a bad plan.
This app makes it easy for anyone to create their own GIF meme. For now, it’s only available in Korean, but if you want to try making your own fun Korean meme just click here or scan the QR code below.
