Warm sunshine, fresh breeze, and blue sky. Hooray! Summer vacation is round the corner. Like us, you’re probably busy planning your dream getaway: shopping, food, sightseeing, relaxation… But how about adding in a teeny bit of cute and fluffy elements? Yes, we’re combining our two favourite things here in Korea: animals and travelling. This summer, join us for a furry vacation at these three places!
01. Alpaca World (Chuncheon City)
Location: Pungcheon-ri, Hwachon-myeon, Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do, Korea (Google Maps)
Walking side by side with alcapas is no longer a dream! At Alpaca World, one of the must-try experiences is walking with these tame and lovely friends. Stroke their soft fluffy fur and feel that ticklish touch when they lick off food from your palm. 1.5 hours from Seoul, Alpaca World is one of the largest experience farms in Korea, housing animals in nature setting surrounded by mountain valley. Take the Alpaca safari train around the hillside enclosure and pet those that come up close. And oh! Don’t forget that on the other side of the hill, rabbits, deer, ponies, owls and other furry buddies are also waiting for you to snuggle!
02. Hyvaa Finland (Hongcheon City)
Location: 631-6 Dumi-ri, Seo-myeon, Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do, Korea (Google Maps)
Hyvää! In Finnish, ‘hyvää’ means ‘good’, but the adjective ‘good’ is certainly not descriptive enough to depict the charm of Hyvaa Finland, a themed farm located 1.5 hours from Seoul. Setting foot in the village, you’ll first be welcomed by its loyal and fluffy ‘villagers’ – flocks of sheep bathing in the sun! Enter the sheep pasture with a basket full of sheep feed and you’ll for sure be tailed by some of the hungry little ones waiting to be fed. Walk up the hill for a stunning aview over the entire pasture at the observatory deck, then head down to the area where rabbits, deer, goats, and ostrich are. The grazing field makes a picturesque background for your photos – Make sure you cuddle a few with you in your snapshots!* Due to Covid-19 Outbreak, this tourism program is not available temporarily.
03. Anseong Farmland (Anseong City)
Location: 29-1 Unggyo-ri, Gongdo-eup, Anseong, Gyeonggi-do, Korea (Google Maps)
Replicating a typical European village, Anseong Farmland has a collection of colorfully decorated half-timbered cottages and old barns. A 1.5-hour ride to the south of Seoul, you’ll find yourself in one of the most beautiful farms you can ever find in Korea. Animals like donkeys, sheep and geese roam freely and might come at your encounter anytime for some titbits. If you have kids with you, have your little ones ride a real full-size horse here, or they can run after the little lamb and goats while feeding them. Flower fields in full bloom at Anseong will make another highlight of your visit, and do also plan your time wisely for some of the signature live shows like sheep shearing, dog show, pig performance during your stay there!* Due to Covid-19 Outbreak, this tourism program is not available temporarily.
